Arts Alliance Media acquires Nordic Digital Alliance
Company strengthens its presence in Nordic region and gains advertising software tools & services
London, September 12 2011 – Arts Alliance Media (AAM), Europe’s leading digital cinema company, has announced that it has acquired a controlling interest in Nordic Digital Alliance (NDA), the joint venture established by AAM and a consortium of Norwegian businesses to roll out digital cinema in Norway and develop cinema advertising solutions. AAM had been the largest shareholder in the company, which has installed 76 D-Cinema screens in Norway and developed Cadien, the market leading campaign management software for the cinema advertising business. NDA has installed and controls more than 540 E-Cinema screens and foyer displays in Norway and Denmark with Cadien today.
AAM will use the acquisition as a launch pad for further Nordic expansion of the business, following the recent announcement of a VPF deal with Finnkino.
AAM’s existing strong software offering – consisting of a Theatre Management System and back-office reporting solution – will be significantly enhanced by NDA’s expertise in the advertising market. NDA and AAM’s software development teams will continue to work on integrating NDA’s unique and highly sophisticated campaign management software and advertising display solutions into AAM’s TMS, providing an efficient, end-to-end service that enables cinema exhibitors to seamlessly receive and schedule pre-show adverts, trailers and feature films on their digital cinema systems.
Oscar Hovland, CEO of NDA, said “Our close relationship with AAM over the past 5 years has been beneficial to both parties, and I’m proud to be part of the AAM team. With this deal I look forward to working even more closely with them going forward, and it is clear that our areas of expertise are going to benefit our digital cinema offering hugely.”
Howard Kiedaisch, CEO of Arts Alliance Media, added “Having had an interest in NDAs business we have been very aware of their achievements and see their campaign management product, Cadien, to be a great piece of software, but only the beginning of where we want to go with this opportunity. We are excited about working more closely with Oscar and his team to expand the reach of their capability beyond the Nordic territory.”
Nordic Digital Alliance was formed in 2006, allowing the company to benefit from AAM’s digital cinema expertise across Europe. NDA has converted digital cinema screens across the largest region of Norway as part of the Film & Kino rollout scheme.
